Ableton flamming and skipping beats

I've just moved from CDJs to Ableton 8 and am so far loving it, except one small thing. The playback of tracks inside Live sounds great at their original tempo but as soon as I move even one BPM up or down I suddenly lose the attack of kick drums for example as if the timing at which the sample is played back is not regular enough.

The tracks are all set to Hi-Q and they are all WAVs, some of my own and some from Beatport (which i have on CD and never had any problems with). If i turn WARP off in the Sample Display then it solves the problem so must be something to do with the Warp function.

Has anyone had this problem and/or solved it?

(By the way, I'm using an Audio 8 DJ interface and sending each channel to a separate one on my analogue mixer)

You have to keep warp on. Otherwise your tracks will not lock to the tempo of the session. Use the complex warping mode and you will get less aliasing. Notice i said LESS.

This is why I don't DJ in Ableton. You have more options for crazy mixes, but I don't really like Warping.
But as said above changing to Complex will make it sounds a good as possible.

Thanks for that guys, I had feared you might say that about Ableton. Do you know if the situation is better in Traktor?

I haven't used Traktor since version 3. But from what I remember, its easy, just click "sync" and both tracks will be synced to the same tempo, however sometimes you have to click "sync" more than once to get it to lock-on. Maybe they fixed it since then.

Its best to beat-match yourself when djing heh

Thats what I use for my mixes. Sounds much better when pitchbending.
Sync works fine now though I rarely use it.
On that note, this saturday gf was hogging my CDJs so for the hell of it I decided to map out most of my APC40 and Maschine for 4 track synced madness. Still finishing the mapping templates so the all the LEDs and modifiers function correctly but still pretty cool thumbsup

Does the APC40 seem to work well with Traktor? Presumably you can map out everything as you want it?

Try setting the warp to "repitch", I think it's called. Been a while since I used live. This will change the speed (and pitch) like a CDJ with Master Tempo off, or good old vynil.
