....Oh come on, how could thay make it smaller/worse heh heh

Joking aside, could it be that this is actually a responce to Rolands Gaia?

Don't think I've seen much product name rivalry (although the 'Polaris' and 'Trident' names always seemed a bit hmmm)

I read, apparently Roland patented some name that was a historical arch enemy, for fear some competitor would use it. Can't remember what it was though.

I'm hoping this Kronos is not some forgetable knobby VA, and is actually something really great, that captures that spirit we all love from yesteryear..

....not holding my breath though

"Kronos" is a reference to time.
It's obviously a virtual analogue metronome.
Duh.

'prepare to be amazed' just gives me the impression its blinky lights, cram as much as you can in a VA amazing.

virtual monotron with dj crossfader and holographic 3d OS lights and 9000 notes of polyphony then.

LOL! Quite an apt name though, as Roland sem to specialise in cramming as much useless sh1t onto a machine that the once semi-interesting concept is dead and buried underneath.....

Hence the term "Going up Uranus".........

Wouldn't put it past them though!!

Maybe a new Synth with only 9 Keys (of course even smaller than the Microkorg Keys), maybe an MS-20-9 with only the 9 most important knobs? In reference to time: who has the time to learn to play anyway? heh

Its gotta be their new VA. Gotta be. Radias is no longer on their product page, though it hasn't been on there pretty much the whole year. Either that, or they ditched the M series, and instead of an M4 made Kronos. How many workstations came out from Korg, was it more than 9?

The way the narrator said "this instrument..." sounds more like a workstation, though. It sounded as if he was talking about making "all" of your music on this instrument.

Hmmm, I dunno.

The fact they put out that Monotron in the first place was an interesting move, that no one would have expected.

Theres something analoguey going on deep in the depths of Korgs think-tank. It might not be the Kronos, but I hope we see further development.

I'm guessing the Monotrons been a small but sucessful product for them.

Well, I have the Radias and the M3, and they sound amazing. I can't complain about the sound. I love the Korg sound.

The monotron is $60. lol. if only they would add MIDI to the equation, you could pick up 10 of these, and have a 10-VCO-VCF analog synth.

Hmm. He's also rearranged the keys. Put some black ones where white ones normally go. Must be a drummer.

I could be interested in a Wavestation for today's time, if done correctly.

Probably less market for what I'd like than a full analogue poly though.

Give me polyphonic, scannable wavetables with high quality interpolation,
polyphonic after-touch, Modcan Scanner like capabilities on the x-fade/morph.

Some nice Aalto LPG emulations, perhaps. Maybe 6 voice.
XOX style touch-screen programming of the wave sequencing.

Clock dividers/logic for poly rhythms. I'm there.
