Added another software step sequencer - the Klee V2. Been having a blast with it!

Also needed to get a MOTU MIDI Express 128 for the laptop rig.

Gordon, I want to get a sequencer for the dot.com myself very soon, but I'm trying to decide if I should get the Q119 or the Q960 first.

How do you like it?

The thing that draws me to the 119 is that it costs less, and you don't need an additional module to get a continuous stream of 24 steps in the sequence.

Did you go through the same decision stage??
Mr. Varaldo--I'll let you know when I get everything up and running--it's been a busy week. I did go through the same back-and-forthing, but in the end it seemed an easy decision (go with the 119, build a Klee over the next few months, see what happens).

Funny thing is... i bought it from the ad that didn't even had a picture or info on the condition of the unit. I expected standard beat-up unit, but this thing hasn't been touched at all... virtually new. heh

BTW, if Tom took the invoice at the post, on the corner there's a tracking number. Type it in their post's search to check the exact location.

thumbsup

Always a nice surprise when the item is above your expectations.

I nearly pounced on a S-3000XL not long ago, purely to have access to the vast libraries of sounds about. These things are bargains now, thanks to software.

I don't want to hear word S3000XL ever again.

I purchased a mint condition one (unbelievably clean). Bought and installed new backlight foil. Bought a ZIP250 drive for it. Built a bank on ZIP for it and started using it on everything.

And then for some unknown reason i sold it for 50 bucks. What an idiot!!! Just the ZIP+disk and the backlight foil cost that much.

I missed that unit so much i had to buy this S1100 (after reading reviews at sonic state), seems that converters are really good in this one. On S3000XL they are transparent, i tested it side by side with Kontakt, virtually identical, just some small aliasing during transposition on Akai. Still, when you lay down tracks on CR1604 the mix gets so much space, totally different than from working ITB where everything is glued to your face.

i payed for this gem cpl of days ago, in very nice condition, courtesy of our fellow mono-poly ..

it will join my first SEM, to be modularized and put together in a new desktop housing .. together with a few choice DIY modules to complement them (Yu-Synth S/H+noise+lag, Oakley ringmod, and a transistor ladder). so it will be my dual SEM mini modular.. can't wait..

For 1000 yen each, the DEP-5 is a bit ...quirky and probably in need of some factory sysex files or something (which I haven't managed to find yet) and portastudio has a broken rewind apparently, but the colours on the knobs matched and look just so damn cool.

Will be shaping and twisting them for a great deal of time Nathaniel!thumbsup
Congrats on the Ebbe und Flut. It's fantastic, as I'm sure you are experiencing
now. Getting the patch points into a patchbay really opens up the possibilities.

And thanks for the kind words on the Driven Machine Drums library.
They are meant to be ingredients, but quality ingredients!

I put some new demo tracks up on the site. The first four tracks in
the player use DMD 1.5 drum sounds exclusively. Lots of modular,
MFB, Drum-Fire, Simmons, HF909 + HFMiami.

I'm particularly fond of the Serge sounds in the third track. I think
they have a unique soft texture, kind of unheard before. Nice for
ambient, idm, etc.

DRIVEN MACHINE DRUMS: 24bit Electronic Drum Samples for GURU, EXS-24, and Kontakt in WAV, AIF

Cheers!
