Riversider....if I recall...haven't used dp since v5 when access and motu had a lovers quarrel.

In audio midi setup, the midi object also contains patch info. Strangely, you can't edit the patches from audio midi setup. If I recall correctly there is a tool called cherry Picker which allows you to do that. One thing dp does much better then logic ( for me anyway ) was multi-timburality. Maybe try cherry picker and see if your drummer friend has more success?

Reaper is also nice.
