Juno-105 voice starting to fail

so recently my Juno 106 started have every sixth note "hizz" or make like a white which eventually ends up in silence..

but this is still only when the juno has been turned on for a few minutes and been played on, i'm wondering if this is something that is slowly happening and there might be a way, even though it sounds unlikely, to prevent it from going completely bad and even fixing it?

or am i doomed to buy a new / or set of voice chips?

i've found a provider of, said to be, excellent voice chips that sound exactly the same and i even get a 6 for the price of 5, but it's a bit more than i can afford at the moment

i even heard that you should be able to take some black coating or something off and that that is actually what is causing the voice chips to overheat and go bad, could i take the black coating off the five good ones and replace just the malfunctioning one?

regards,
David Tausen

yeah, soak the voice chip in acetone.

it's likely yours is still salvageable since it's only showing the early signs of failure (hiss and etc) rather than just not working at all

you will have to carefully desolder the chip and then basically soak it in acetone until the nasty coating peels away
