If it was bootleg, it wouldn't have been linked on Korg's own website.

Korg Product Details (see where the "Buy Now" link goes to?)

Besides, it's an older plugin already, and it's only a single plugin - so $50 is not much, really.

Here's the M1 organ done on NI Massive, volume's kind of low but hey, you get the idea:

and if you have Massive, here's the patch:

Slightly off topic but being a massive UK Garage head myself upuntil about 2002 before it went wrong......

Pied Piper's tune Do you Really like it....the melody was just taken from the Proteus 2500 or was it 2000....i can't remember, i owned it, was 2500 I think....jeez I paid 600 quid for that thing back in the day, was my first major hardware purchase....i really didnt have a clue about production back then....but anyway he didn't even change the preset in anyway, just looped the preset, stuck a beat and bassline behind it, got 3 well known MC's to spit on it, and it went into the charts.....

Absolutely criminal.....

Certainly not the first time this has happened. Timbaland has had many an international smash using unchanged presets.

Ha Ha I had just woken up and now realise that doesn't make sense, of course DT would normally have said "it's EZ on the one's and two's" or whoever was DJing at the time. In reference to the track he actually says

"Were loving loving it loving it, were loving it like this"

"Jump on the one's and two's lets go lets go" "All my summer time crew oooh ooooh"

he was so basic haha.

Trivia for you....Sharkey P MC'd for me at Glasshouse at Underground Explosion.

Was a pretty big set for me. Ah those were the days.

LOL.

I did it. I bought the Korg Digital M1 pack for 50 bucks. I was at work today, so I've only had a little messaround with it.

I played a Kontakt 4 rhodes sequence, then copied that pattern to one of the Korg M1's organs - in a high octave - with D16 Decimort as an insert effect, exported, reimported to Cubase.

It's still not there yet (just like my drum EQing) but it's getting better.

Here's an embarrassing clip, but I would benefit from any advice about ANYTHING. Thanks.

Sounds good!

I'd suggest you shorten the amp envelope release to virtually nothing... those garage tracks were generally pretty tight/staccato.

Get to work with your EQ, clean out some lows... you are pretty close.

BTW... how do you feel about the M1?... no buyer's remorse??

Lots of famous sounds in there! Famous Sounds

@ Simonator

I bought a real (hardware) Korg M1R a few months ago for some of these sounds (and others) and I have to say, I love it. It's perfect for classic 90's sounds, and also bread and butter sounds I missed from selling my Triton.

I haven't tried the software - I hear it's dead on though.

@ the OP

Let us know how you get on w/ the software

I really didn't have much time to go thru it all, and with work up until 1pm NYE, shopping afterward, and clubbing all night, it seems I won't get a chance until Saturday night.

From what I've seen, I would be a little disappointed if I bought it in hardware form. I mean, if I just had THAT in hardware form plus Cubase, it seems as if I'd be really limited. But again, it's too soon to judge. Maybe there's a lot "under the hood" that I didn't see at first glance.

I know I'm repeating myself here, but this important so I'll restate it.

Those sounds are all sampled off old soul, motown, house and other records.

The Korg M1 digital sounds fanastic. It's interface is really underwhelming, but don't be put off. With a bit of good chorus and some overdrive they really come to life.

Lately, I've been getting one hour to myself per evening, and I have a LOT to do. I will reply better soon.

Tarkovsky, thanks.

its all pretty much covered, get the M1 vst, its dead on...

I had an M1 for a month and sold it because the plugin was too similar, select the patch called piano 16 or the organs and you have the sound! what other information are you looking for?
