How do I get This Synth Sound?

I'm working on a track and want to program a sound similar to the synth sound played in the main riff of Release The Beast that Daft punk sampled in Robot Rock.

Any ideas?

Indeed. What gear do you have at your disposal? It'll need 2 oscillators with hardsync, and the pitch of one of them needs to be modulated with an envelope.

A lowly JX3P can already do it, and so can lots of software. It's the first preset on Pro-53.

I have an SQ-80 as well as some VSTs, Trilogy, Helix, FM8, and the ones that come with Sonar like z3ta.

So 2 Osc, hard synced, envelope dropping pitch. envelope on the filter?

Anything else more specific?

There seems to also be a LFO doing a little wah effect.

Yoozer, do you have the Pro-53? Do you mind copying the basic parameters?

Lives for gear

sq-80 has sync...

first turn off dca 1 and 3 by setting their levels to 0 with no mod sources for either.
2nd set osc sync to on in master section

set up env 3 to lv1 64 and t1 to 20 or so. lvl2 64 t2 64 lvl3 64 t3 64 lvl4 64 t4 0 use no tk or ti or tv on env 3.

set osc 1 first mod source to env 3 amount -12.
osc1 waveform tri or saw
and its coarse setting 1 number lower than osc 2's

set osc2 to waveform to saw
dca2 to 60 no mod sources

filter cutoff to roughly 90 res to about 8 and play with the mod envelope t1 time and the mod amount on osc1 the relative coarse and fine controls on the 2 oscs till you have what you want.

Thanks for the help. I'm impressed the top-of-the-head approximations, but this sound is not as simple as it seems apparently.
