Microkorg + Midi?? please help???

Hi Guys I was wondering if you could help???

I'm new to midi so i pretty much know nothing!

I bought a ux2 lately and realised theres no midi?

So i was wondering...

Can I use my microkorg to play software such as sanpletank or other things like that? are they called virtual instruments?

and if i can then would i just need a midi to usb cable??

I'm recording into Adobe audition 3?

Is it possible to use all this in audition 3?

I'm very grateful for any help

Yes the microKORG is fine for the purpose of playing samples and instruments on your computer, as well as playing other synths and modules.

Need Midi interface to your computer, MIDI out of Korg to MIDI in on your computer you can avoid audio if you only want to record or play computer samples and synths, if your not using any sounds from the Korg.

If you have a microKorg XT then a USB cable from the Korg to the computer should do the trick.

Thank you very much Skyshooter

But... I'm recording on a UX2 with no midi in :(

So would I be able to use a midi to usb cable with my microkorg? pluging the microkorg straight into the computer?

I want to record into audition 3 with the samples or instruments

Thank you

and Merry Christmas

Yes, a MIDI-to-USB cable would work. You can add as many MIDI interfaces as you want - but if you plan on buying more synths in the future it might be smart to invest in a 4-in-4-out interface instead of just a single cable.
