Pick Me Apart!

I have been making Electronic dance music for some time now, but never really felt that I had 'found my sound' so to speak.
I recently finished a new track and im quite proud of it, its the closest I have come to feeling content with a piece!

Id love for you guys to give it a listen and let me know if im on track, or if im wwaaaaay off. Does it have a place in techno? Is the production tight enough to be considered 'professional sounding' Have you any ideas/advice for improvments or does it just plain stink!?

Let me know, all comments welcome, good or bad

Merry Christmas!

It's good, but seems closer to Chillout / Lounge than Techno.

I feel the mix sounds "pro" enough. Good job.
I agree it seems more chill and downbeat than techno.
Reminds me of stuff I hear on divbyzero.de and as good.

Really appreciate the comments guys,it means a lot!

I have been listening to alot of artists such as douglas greed and wighnomy brothers, stuff coming from the freund am tanzen label. Although this is a techno label a lot of the artists there approach their tracks in quite a delicate way, i guess as always the boundaries that define genres are getting more and more blurred!

once again thanks alot,

my concerns are that the bass may not be subby enough to give the track real depth, but if i filter out any of the highs it loses its punch, a classic predicament,

any advice on how to improve this, obviously without changing the source sound!

Did you read this current thread:

I cannot hear much in the way of sub in your track... possibly lowering the key might help?

No there isnt a sub bass so to speak, there are bass notes that have quite a bit of weight to them, but they occur syncopated with the kick drum at intervals, so there are spaces where there is no bass present.

Do you guys think its necessary to have a constant bass note audible, so that the mix sounds constantly full? Would it be an option for me to add some simple sub bass that is at a really low frequency, so that it doesn't distract too much from the main motifs but still fatten the mix?
