ASR10 - "Error 144" HELP

Hi everyone.
I've just bought an ASR10 for a good price and was really enjoying the sounds and effects.

today i started sampling something and machine started freaking out and producing a really nasty noise instead of playing back anything. i tried messing around with the buttons and it gave me a message saying "ERROR 144 - REBOOT?"

couldn't find any info online... but i tried investigating further and it seems the problem has to do with the 44khz sampling, it doesn't freak out when i use 30khz... also if i use the 44khz fx while the sequencer is running its gives me the same message....

HELP please, i just bought it, i can try returning it but not sure how that will work out...

thanks
michael

I've gotten that error before myself, not really sure why though. The service manual says:

"MIDI or Main Board Problems
The following error is usually caused by too much incoming MIDI data. It also could be caused by a problem with the keyboard.
144 Out of buffers"

It's an Ensoniq. heh

"Error 144 - reboot?" Was the name of the tongue-in-cheek Gabber project me and my mates had back in the 90's.

We had an EPS16+ as our main sampler...
