weird, I thought I posted in this thread already. Some great recommendations here. +1 on the Hol Baumann; totally awesome. I think I've liked every single release from Ultimae records this year.

If you are at all into goa or psy trance (as opposed to kid-friendly "euro" trance or whatever), you might like this short-ish DJ mix from me... it's all new music mostly from South America (Brazil, Mexico), where there's been a new wave of very fresh & inspired-sounding trance tunes. Some good UK artists in the mix as well.

Check it out:

tracks:

1 sonic species - bend the future
2 burn in noise - invisible
3 Laughing Buddha - Smoking The Reefer
4 Materia - Brainiac
5 Altruism - Turn Around
6 Dickster & Burn In Noise - The Wibbler
7 E-Jekt - Superposition (1st Stone rmx)
8 Circuit Breakers - 10 yrs after
9 Hopi and earthing - Offline Providings
10 Burn In Noise - Ozzo (Logica Rmx)

(yes I like burn in noise. saw 'm and logica in London in 09, mahoosive...)

Love the Grovskopa track. And thanks dubtek71 for the pavorotti and brown that was awesome!

Just caught this kid the other day.. Per Byhring, he does some interesting stuff using physical movement and digital audio processing.. he does his own animation for his videos and then is a musician as well.

His whole album is available for free over at fwonk.com its worth it for the track ettertid.

This rocks my face. All live, mainly improv, what an incredible performer.
edit: he does a pretty awesome White Stripes cover, too.

Esperanza Spalding: AWESOME new talent. Amazing voice. A REAL musician and not a talentless fraud, for a change...

Miami Bass/Breakbeat stuff. I still dig 4 on the floor and metal, but it's a refreshing change.

This has been blowing my mind lately. I've never heard anything like it, it's so dark and grungy, but the processed vocals are such a nice bit of sad melody...

I was born the year this came out but still, how have I lived without this album for so long? Synthpop dissolved in acid, stripped down to the essentials.

And, Gary Numan stylistic influences aside, insanely ahead of it's time. You could sample the first 30 or so seconds of Plaza and have a hit next week.

And for new stuff, I'm kind of into some of this ecclectic German whaddyacallit...

props to whoever it was in that other thread who turned me on to kollektiv turmstrasse

Can anyone confirm if this is mainly Elektron gear, listening to the album reminds me a lot of Oni Ayhun.
