I hope you took it all in stride... a little elbow jostling is fine between (internet) friends, right?

Sometimes I feel like *I'm* the creepy uncle. It's weird being the only one in the family that likes rock, jazz, classical and punk.

You can't elbow jostle a cherished childhood memory! That was my classical music as a kid. Besides a few classical related movie theme albums my mom had.

Her favorite was Dr. Zhivago and she had a music box with the theme and everything:

Maybe not classical, but sill classic (like Walter Murphy's Fifth of Beethoven!)

I'll go truly classical finally - but it's heavy metal.

I see your full house, and raise you this --

I like their November Rain maybe more than the original (understated serves this song well):

Love that they're Finnish but taking the music seriously (not hipster tongue in cheek).

I might be wrong, but Mozart was a privileged pervert who basically sold out to an elite mediocrity. Amadeus is based off of a ficitious play written by a sensationalist journalist a generation after Mozart died, right?

Beethoven was more medieval heavy metal imo. He knew pain and depths of emotion beyond childish Mozart.

Gosh who knows. It's all hearsay at this point.

He was a poet too! I'm not defending Mozart.

I've gotten into classical music at times, but currently it's not on my playlist. I do find Beethoven's life fascinating - the real struggles that he overcame.

When I were a lad I loved this song:

Then about 8 months ago I heard this for the first time while driving to work:

put my head in a spin for a minute.

I love this too. And I love Anna's performance too doing the equivalent of the lost in showbiz guitar face.

Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" IMO one of the greatest compositions ever,
totally flawless, totally original, non stop brilliant, nothing but stunning.

There must be hundreds of recordings, this here by the VISION STRING QUARTET
is quite spectacular, "modern", but 100% focused and deep black.

Second recording on the album is the string quartet #6 by Felix Mendelssohn
and while i am not a big fan of his music, this one here is played superbly by the VSQ.

One of the very best classical recordings of the last years for me

Here is the first movement of each piece

I hope I haven't posted this before. One of my jams. Great looking video that was shot entirely on an iPhone.
