!! August 1st is the Big Day !!

Just a little reminder about the big event on August 1st, 2010.

For those of you who haven't heard, I have organized a get-together for the people of our industry to hang out for the day and I disguised it as a poker tournament and a charity event.

For the past few months, I have been contacting gear and software manufacturers to ask them if they would like to donate their products as prizes in support of our industry. The response has been overwhelming! For a small buy-in, we get to compete for some amazing prizes and enjoy the company of our peers for an afternoon of fun at The Village Recorders Studio.

I am doing this for you. I am doing this for us. I am doing this for the good of our industry. I want to meet you. I want you to make new friends. I want you to leave with more than you came with. Won't you please join me?

This year's prizes (so far);

Maybe we should organise our own Snakes & Ladders?

I'm going to write to Jomox & ask them if they'll resume manufacture of the Sunsyn as a one-off for a prize.

Sorry guys that we're so far away.

This is the 2nd Annual event, so you can always start planning to make the trip next year if this thing continues to grow.

Let me know if anyone decides to do an event like this over in Europe because I would be happy to help out or make the trip.

Thanks!

Nice one. I'm also too far away, but I think it's a great idea, and you seem to be doing a great job of making it all work out well!

Damn. I wish I was still in LA for that.
I am a pretty decent poker player. When I am not drunk.

Great effort though! You make us all proud.

I just might check this next year I have not been to LA for years.
I also have not stalked my ex-wife who live there in a while either.

just gonna add in saying i'd travel south for a london meet like this.

i propose we all spend a year growing handlebar mustaches and hold the meet at the handlebar club's regular haunt the windsor castle pub.
