Hey man, its his opinion and hes entitiled to it. Hes not saying people shouldn't use it, just it didn't work out for him.

No harm with that.

May be overly clean-sounding for the tastes of some, but it has made my life 10x easier getting synth bass to sit in the mix and has been a nice "gateway drug" to analogue hardware lust, LOL. Mulling over options for next additions...SEM reissue looks tempting.

Apart from a bit of dust, looks in pretty good shape!

Will look wonderful when you get the synth section bolted back in, and a bit of a clean up.

Sounds a bit different... especially the rim. Not worse, just different.
I like the toms.

This is true.

Back when I started building and ordered the parts, I went with the new replacement parts. There is a guy that now is selling NOS rare parts kit with the old transistors and such.

Gateway drug indeed! The LP has a bad rap around here, but I liked mine while I had it. It felt very alive, like a real musical instrument, and was a blast to play. I eventually returned it though, and, after some time, ended up with an Andromeda and Studio Electronics Omega

I think that an LP and an SEM would be a very interesting combo! I also imagine that it would be fun when paired up with an Evolver.

Glad to hear you like it. I love my LP! It is a great sounding synth. Overdrive is a great feature for pumpin bass. Enjoy.

All I can afford atm. I'll do my own mods for this, and see how far I can take it. I'll probably buy three more by the end of the year. Cheap I/O for me. I'll likely get a couple of channels of better converters to complement the set up at some stage down the line, but not just yet.

Nice selection Mr Acid.

Can I ask, did you perform the Blue led mod to your 707 yourself? Looks rather splendid. Easy job?

I had a friend do it a few years ago. Before i learned how to solder. But yes, it would be fairly easy to do. For me anyway. Just time consuming.

They're not for mixing down or anything critical. Just for play back. I do want to move them eventually though.

Definitely not analog. It's too thin.
