The word "sequencer" was misspelled. Korg wouldn't do that even in beta.

I didn't find it in a search. So did you type in Seqencer or Sequencer?

If you look on this page Korg UK page:

KORG Monotron Analogue Ribbon Synthesizer

on the right hand side there's a button labelled "monotron pro image gallery"

It's not there on the US website.

korg montron pro software and hardware units

yes there is a-- hardware and a software--- version in the works

(n.e.x.t s.u.m.m.e.r.) hint hint ....
- there has been MUCH interest from KORG in my concept unit.

the next update will come in july

no midi? lol

if this is true it doesnt make sense at all. if anything is more niche than an analog synth its an analog sequencer, a cv one at that!

+1, no midi is idiotic, provided this is legit.

there're enough cv sequencers and synths with midi already.

FSK1138, are you going to make any changes to the VCO, add envelopes etc? the concept looks great so far, hope Korg will make a full line up of portable analogue noise makers.

no midi give me a break guys

@ctrlshft

@axm311

what is the point of adding midi ?? -
! there is just no space left
-if you want midi get a cv to midi converter -
-- i am just one guy

BTW: ---the original does not have midi or cv ----

@iconst i am adding a second vco vcf and lfo - to be used in parallel or serial -
- this open the door to a patchable unit more semi modular like the ms-20

i feel in the long run dropping the sampler midi and usb was a good idea
korg has the R&D $$ to play around i don't

I guess I'm confused, is this an idea you're pitching to Korg? Or are you designing it for them. You don't have to say if you don't want to

No MIDI is just curious due to all the people around here saying, the big 3 will never make an analog synth, there's no market for it, etc. holding that to be true, there's even less of a market for this (imo)

maybe they should release something similar to that first, then this would make more sense

for the time being, there's no new korg gear that this can even interface with (that I know of)

Monotron with modded cv/gate - great!
BTW: is that 1 V/oct or the old Korg Hz/V thing?

And I'd love the idea of a whole series of analog thingies from Korg!

And here's my favorite Korg typo (on a PE-2000 labelled Univox Poly-Ensemble S):

Cheers,
Bert

Because some wise crack stuck "Pro" on it? My idea of Pro is not that POS ribbon keyboard it has. Do you want people to be able to play the thing or not? As for it being too small for midi. Well, this idea might be a bit "Out there" but have you thought about, you know, making it slightly bigger?
CV is all very well, but midi is rather more prolific in this day & age.

Im not overly convinced by this 'prototype' story so far..

korg montron pro next update in july

i think the biggest mistake was saying anything about this unit
-- until it was finished--

so this is my last post until july
----

i posted my prototype idea -
before the unit was even first modded or opened
the step sequencer idea was vastly improved
-- so i changed my design
----------------see video posted by--Ben F--
-- masa921's monotron MODs. have been a big influence

midi to cv is a much better solution - there are many modern interfaces and many diy projects you can goolge

the original mod idea was i will admit ---overambitious---
and would have involved writing software that i just do not have
the time for ..

- KORG has express interest in my concept -

@Llitsor
anyone who says "just make it bigger " has never -made anything before
at one point you just have to commit to a design to move forward
----if you have any mods you would like to post so people can comment on please feel free to do so

see you all again in july

Nope, which makes me wonder why Korg would even consider creating a product classified as a CV Sequencer. Seems to me they would just make another self-contained, semi-toy synth like the Monotron, but with an integrated sequencer. Take away the CV in/out and it's a lot more believable.

Speaking of upcoming sequencers, this is where it's at:

Indeed. I can't wait to get one.

Check out this demo from the same bloke of Monotron triggred by MIDI to CV:

Hi folks,

Sorry to spoil the fun, but in case someone stumbles upon this thread, I need to let you know that this is NOT a real Korg product, and the above-mentioned collaboration does not exist. While I can't comment on future product releases, I can confirm that this isn't one of them.

Thanks!

Knew it! Thanks for clearing that up RichF. Makes you wonder about some of the insane people out there looking for attention. I mean why? What's the point

BTW it's great that Korg have people like RichF that actually get involved in the community.
