Can't sellers be bothered to check completed listings for an idea of what their sh*t is worth?

Yep

And here's another Japanese seller with awful feedback

I recall a time when 99.9% of Japanese sellers had impeccable feedback, you really felt safe in their hands and yes you always did pay more, but you got "Mint with a capital M" and super secure packaging.

This guy and some other large Japanese sellers I constantly come across in the listings now are becoming right old clowns

This website looks like it's full of scams, I recommend reverb where they have live phone support and insurance for sellers.

reverb is also full of scam don,t worry. is simply called excellent condition there
but in this case I'm more concerned with the crazy offer, who needs 57 guitars, one for each weekday, early morning, noon, evening, happy hour, midnight. depending on the weather?

Well you could be like that Kevin Shields and have a different guitar tuned for each song.

I think more of spinal tap and the unused guitar that you can hear purely by holding it in your hand

No, of course not, I see rather questionable auctions. about which one can ask. of course everything is right.

I don't see anything wrong with that item, it's unlikely to sell but that's hardly a scam.

Maybe it's their retirement plan.

I have one too... I found a piece of popcorn that looks rather like the holy mother and I'm keeping it until the time is right to sell it for a 6 figure sum.

The first 3 pages (out of 5 total) of their "keys" category, are full of "wishful thinking" prices. Maybe potential sellers will flock there thinking, "Good, this site must attract wealthy fools!" But, I doubt the effectiveness of any of that.

I think it's wishful thinking to imagine that anybody would want to use this hastily constructed site based on "trust" when reverb.com offers insurance to sellers.

I was thinking the same thing too. I used to use Sweetwater Gear Trade or Sonic State back in the 90's based on trust. It was a different time back then. And as for Reverb, their support has been excellent for me any time I've had an issue, which has been rare. Worlds apart better than EPrey. The people buying and selling on Reverb have also been pretty cool that vast majority of the time as well.

“Power sellers” can say more to how things have changed since they’ve been acquired by Etsy, however i’ve been seeing music gear im interested in shift to Reverb fairly quickly over the last few years, and it’s been great as a seller, second only to Craigslist. Ebay is too bloated and untargeted.

£249 + £8.90 shipping (£257.90) for a used synth that's currently in mass production to the extreme and retails at £140 new (with free shipping) at practically every store in the UK right now.

Same seller. Another Behringer synth. Again 50% more expensive than a brand new one.

In all his listings he's claiming the used items are 'new but taken out of box and tested'.

Absolutely bananas.

I always look at this thread as I find human greed fascinating, it kind of goes from fibbing about it being new to trying to rip people off completely in a state of total delusion .

I'm half-tempted to buy these 'new' synths, try them at home for 14 days and then return them under the cooling off period that mandatory with the online sale of new goods.

Yeah good move

I always feel a bit guilty if I do this with genuine and decent online retailers because I know they can't resell for the full price after that (although I know they factor that loss into the retail price !)

So that's where people like this become useful
