Rich (Orphx) has been making fantastic noisy clangy stuff for ages now. I remember being at his parents house when we were about 16 or so, with a Mirage sampler, a Yamaha SY22 and a mic, and ended up doing a Skinny Puppy cover. Good times!

trust me, you want LUSTMORD, this is the darkest you can get. start with the album STALKER. here is a track:

YouTube - Robert Rich & B. Lustmord - Elemental Trigger

this is his most 'relaxing' album, his other albums are so heavy you will not be able to listen to them mashed... try and see

Agreed... I did a quick run through. Skinny Puppy seems to be recommended a lot... listened to a few of their tracks... not dark at all to me.

When I think dark, I think like, Plastikman "Ask Yourself" or some of the Ostgut Ton stuff.

Dig deeper around 1987-1991 for Skinny Puppy, the newer stuff isn't dark, but, rather interesting regardless.

If you want to cut through and get to the heart of it all, there's always Haus Arafna.

Skinny Puppy: BITES is darkish. Back & Forth v1 is good too in this vein.
Also check out Doubting Thomas from back then, beautiful dark electro/industrial from Dwayne Goettel (RIP)...
and related project Download. This stuff was great back around '89..

You all are turning this dude into a cow slaughtering satanist.

He said Massive Attack and Unkle...

this is like offering a 6th grader a dirty sanchez after the first kiss.

You gotta let em grow into that roughness naturally over time, man.

I guess that's why there's so many different types of music. I found the Plastikman simplistic and obvious, and the Ostgut Ton repetitious and not dark at all.

I still the think the older puppy tracks are some of the most harrowing music I've ever heard.

Sneaker Pimps - Not consistently dark but some songs definitely are. First album has beautiful female vocals, next 2 have male vocals and are generally darker sounding

hahaha :D

anyways, mr. Bari, Try Autechre's two first albums, Incunabula and Amber.
Although I'm not quite sure will they fullfill the "dark" part but atleast they have this very strong feeling of solitude etc. which I think is very closely realted to "dark" feelings.
Album Tri Repetae is also very good.
