Mixing a vast amount of Toms w/ Bass

So I'm working on Track right now with 2 sets of pitched floor toms, a percussion loop that essentially is a tom, and some mid toms from a 909 kit.

Here is the sequence on a 1/4 note loop

Floor Tom 1:

xxxt xxxx xxxt xxxx

Floor Tom 2:

xxxt xxtx xxxt xxtx

Percussion Loop:

xpxp xxpx pxxp xpxx

Mid Tom:

xxmx xxmx xxmx xxmx

Kick is 4 on 4

Bass is delayed an 8th note after the kick.

As you can see a lot of this is hitting at the same time and I am getting some phasing issues. However, I can fix everything so it doesn't fight, but I loose a lot humanization & swing, which gives its feel. Also making room for the bass is going to be fun as well. Any suggestions besides side chaining, and just proper mixing?

Probably because you`re using heavly processed samples.

On my real 909 I can have the toms do all sorts of patterns with almost no issue. Then again I control the eq and compression, the real thing is quite dry to what samples put out.

Hmm try killing the sustain of them with a high gate or something.
