What options for giving an EMS Synthi-A midi?

I have an EMS Synthi-A (so without the keyboard and sequencer from the AKS). Would love to find a solution for getting midi into the Synthi, so that I can play sequences with it (probably going to use numerology for this). Does anyone know of any good solutions, or midi retrofits that work well with this synth?

Sorry to drag up this thread from nearly a decade ago but... I have a Synthi AKS I'd like to control and I'm looking at options at the moment. Any suggestions?

I'm also looking for suggestions on where to get them serviced.

Thanks in advance!

If I had one of them i’d probably just control it with voltages rather than do any retrofit to it.

Kenton Electronics do cables for EMS synths, especially a 8-pin Jones plug to 3 x 3.5mm mono jack. Of course you will need to buy a Kenton Pro-Solo MkII to convert midi into CV via the Jones plug.

Hey KazRemark, I’m looking into finally pulling the trigger on a Synthi A and was wondering how you liked the CV interface from Digitana.

Thx!

Doesn't seem like there's many devices that can output CV with the scaling and ratios that EMS used.

A cheaper option might be to ask the maker of the CVOCD to do a custom firmware for you that can output .32V/Oct
