The blue and black-just different colours-but the white is Nova edition..

What a black version that is in the pic.

As you can see, the knobs are different which I think can actually be a big difference aesthetics-wise. The Nova editions have different sound banks on them also.

The Novas have the fuzz added along with a sine wave on Osc 2. I'm not sure if the Amp got the snappification mod. The SE1X seemed like it was already snappy.

From a fellow SE-1 lover to a future prospect.
I have had this synth knocked around for years in my rack.
It is a FAT BASTARD, never once needed a repair, although I should get a knob for it but I use MIDI CC's to do everything so it ain't a showstopper.
In home studio's VST's might sound OK with headphones and little monitors, but on a stage and through the FOH, you will never get the sound of this synth emulated no matter how many OctoQuad CPU's you use.
I should upgrade mine to the newer Nova, but I can't see getting rid of something that sounds so good and has served me so well.
But if you get the Nova edition or even a used SE-1 for 800 from ebay, you will punish the weak desktop synths and VST's, no offense, but they are called virtual for a reason.

And what version is this ?

Also I would say that NOVA version has more presets , but this thing is not necessary an advantage .

Virtuals depend in the DAC and the wordclock

most virtuals with an atomic clock + a verry clean DAC like UA 2192, silver clock cables is just mind blowing.

Easy.

Behind the blue one there's a man telephoning.
Behind the black man there are two man watching a little man peeing.
There's nothing behind the white one.

Cheers,
Bert

Was it here that I heard they might make a SE1X keyboard... I heard that somewhere for that and the ATC-Xi there will be a keyboard.

Here for the gear

The Red Eye and the Angel Dust aka Nova Edition have sine wave generators on OSC 2 as well. They also have an amp overdrive or "fuzz" switch.

So I had a blue face so I was missing the Osc 2 sine, better amp (caswell so much better) and the distortion circuit? So was there a price differance between the 2? It's gone now but I plan to buy another in about a year or so.....
