How do you like that one. I may have the chance to buy one in a couple months and I'm trying to decide between that or the Vermona DRM-1.

depends.. if you dont have another quality drum computer go eith the vermona. if you already have some modular sources and another drum machine go for it. the d-1000 begs to be processed externally. the sounds and control options are so-so in my book out the box. the best part for me thus far has been the clock/ trigger sequencer. finding quality sounds is tricking, there are sweet spots kinda. dont know if that helps much.. i guess just don't expect to be blown away by the d-1000 on its own. it is semi modular in a sense and the manual suggests you take advantage of such.

How was the R-50?
It is rumored that the kawai drum machines were the source of the wax trax drum sound and I occasionally consider trying to track one down to see.

The E-mu command stations have 16 tracks, and each track can be step, grid or real time, and you can change Quantise resolution or switch it off.

I want the big one the top of them all I think is the fairlight. If someone would make something that sequenced like the fairlight. Had that feel I would by it in a heart beat but not for 17 grand.

i currently have:
tr-505
tr-606
tr-626
tr-727
tr-808
SR-16
tama ts-305
ESX-1
EMX-1

the 606 is probably my favorite hi hat machine, the 808 is good for everything an 808 can do (it is actually quite versatile with all the tuning and decay options, plus individual outs for all sounds, plus the trigger outs. y'know 808, i don't really need to convince anyone that it's good), the 727 is pretty classic for percussion and it makes me giggle every time i program some audacious conga or agogo part. i don't really use the 505, 626, or SR-16 much, if ever. the EMX-1 i only use as a sequencer, the ESX-1 i only use for sample playback in live shows. the 305 is dece for gritty "beeeuw" space toms. for sample based sounds that aren't covered by the machines, i use transfuser in PT, or just paste directly on the grid.

Although the R8 works for now, I'd love to at some point own a real 808 and 909. Not to mention I would love to have a Cr-8000, Cr-78, and a Cr-68.
