how much $$$ is my next question? If its reasonably priced, im adding it to my collection.

that would make my analog collection be

x0xb0x #250
Moog LP Stage II
Akai AX-60
Roland Alpha Juno
Alesis Andromeda A6
Roland TR909
Dot Com 22 Space Modular.
Miami

mmmm, analog.

damn this is sick thanks for posting this.

i wonder if this will make tr-808 prices rise in a similar fashion to what the x0x b0x did to the 303

probably? yet the future unknown it is.
the shuffle mode appeals to me. and that it's new, and midified.
love classic machines, but like maintenance free gear better. (:
his 303 clone has a good rep.

The video gives you a sense of scale, which the photos didn't; it's nicely small, relative to the original.

Sounds pretty right on to me, but I'm no 808 purist.

I am so glad there are small companies out there that see the demand for stuff like this & fill it. The 808 & 606 are the only TR series that I feel I must have again. The 606 price I can handle the 808 is way overpriced on the used market. This will be a great alternative.

I agree, but i think the 606 is a bit over priced though. They're cool, but they're not $400 cool =o]

I'm liking the look of this unit. I wonder if it's rackmountable?

I have an 808 but a rackmountable replacement would be

One thing I did notice on the comparison demos was the pitching on the acidlab was bit off??

Wow. That thing looks awesome. I wonder if it will accept any of the modifications available for the original TR-808.

Similar vein, 808 DIY kit:

I'd have no problems drilling a few holes in this little clone.
You could of course also have your own 19" faceplate made.

This has been done, my friend pioneered his "Swingcroniser" in the 90s. A device that varies the clock rate to produce swing. This was an external DIN sync generator but was also built into one users 808 and his own tr606.

I believe the technique has since been copied and manufactured by another company.

I can't go past the kenton mod... full velocity rocks.. Its also fun to drive it from the 909 to get swing, though I mostly use an MPC.

Looks like the 808 has its software built in to the micro processor... still a mod could be made to implant a midibox if you're really brave

800 Euro, which is $1150. I wouldn't mind having this and the acidlab 2 but I hate being a$$ raped on the exchange. No American distributor as far as I can see. Is there one?
