No worries mate,i don't really like all that psy/goa stuff much, ive always liked my fat rolly techno and house more when it comes to dance music but i do really appreciate the skill that goes into it making it. It's a bit like DNB. Some of it has a very similar sound which def sepearates the good producers from the bad ones in execution. I think psy trance is very much the same in that it has a real sound and style to it and formulas that give it that feel. I think you proper nailed it.And to me it will always be goa or 4am in the woods 3 legged dog on a string music heh

Now ill prob find out your one of the pioneers of it hahaha

Amen to that ! i grew up on Goa music, 94-2000 were the best times in Psy-Trance music for me, i try to keep up & preserve that line of music...

I'm not a pioneer... just a dude who loves good old goa tunes .. heh

You live in Vegas? I might go there for a conference in December for a few days (if they accept my paper). Is there any cool music stores there with synths in stock? I think there's a Samash, right? I'd like to bring something back with me.... maybe a Prophet 08.

Ok, I've listened to some of this stuff.

@cosmos: cool track. I'm not into trance, but if I were, this is what I would listen to. Some pretty cool noises there. I just didn't "get" the ocassional fades. BTW.- thanks 4 listening.

@digital 1010: I like the way you mixed it. Too bad it was so short.

@keybdwizrd: I believe I saw this one the other day on matrixsynth. It's definitely not my thing, but it does sound lovely, and I envy your playing skills.... and your Prophet 08.

@carbon111: Nice, but I felt the mix a little ear-piercing. Sounds similar to the cheesy (in a good sense) stuff I make sometimes.

Lots of talent in this board. I'll check the others later. thumbsup

Oh what the hell... I'll throw one in for public ridicule. Here's one that is actually bits and pieces of an older song but I revisted and refreshed it earlier this year. It's sort of an Orbitalesque synth tune, repetitive, directionless, and self indulgent but it's the sort of noise I make when I don't have a singer to work with.

C Bentley:"Contact"

BTW... I've enjoyed listening to all the other tracks.

Thanks mate its short as the track is far far from finished and i it was a a clip for a mate to see what he thought of the groove. I've been waiting for my jd990 to arrive which it now has as it was asking for some big fat lovely pads.

such a variety of styles in this thread. that's refreshing. lot's of great ideas/tunes.

here's something i did a while back.

it's a few patterns i had bouncing around in the machinedrum for a while so i used the MD song mode and put them together. tracked them then added a bunch of other stuff. MW XT, some logic synths, some kontakt creations from nord lead jams i had and some acid bits from a FR revolution jam.

it's kind of an assembly of puzzle pieces and i think that comes across in the arrangement (so i'm told) but there's some chunks of it i like. It doesn't fit into any album concept i'm working on but it was something i felt i had to finish... so up on the internet it goes!

great textures and tones. really fills up the space. I like darker ambient styles like this and the max/msp factor adds some nice weirdness.

Here's my track - made with Reason 4 - no hardware and no vst's
You hear subtractor through scream 4 + some sounds i have. I'd really like to get your opinion of the sounds and about the quality - yeah it's a 128kb but you can get the picture. Propably te sounds are weak compared to hardware, but this is not my fault.
