i used chorus quite often lately and was wondering if its better used as send or insert effect?

aaaand second: whats the definition of a bus compressor? i mean, cant you use every compressor as a bus compressor?

Chorus is fine as either insert or send, but if you want to use the same chorus effect on more than one part, make sure to put it on a send (and put the wet/dry all the way up to full wet).
Any effect than messes with the "time" aspect of audio, such as chorus, delay, or reverb, is suitable for use on a send.

Any compressor can be used on a bus, yes, but some are just more suited to this role than others, just like some compressors are more suited to drums than lead vocals, etc.

Have fun.
