Akai powersupply trick!

well im a proud owner of a S3000xl bought from ebay.

my problem was that it was a 110volt unit. the reason im telling you this? because i found a very easy way to fix it without spending any money.

first open up the unit, sit it so the fron of the unit is facing you. now just behind the disk drive is the PSU board and transformer. at the front egde of this board is a jumper lead with 100-110 on one side and 20-240 on the other side.

all you need to do is rotate this jumper by 180 degrees and you have changed the voltage

works a treat, and saves buying an external transformer.
