β€œBrand new hardware with much more powerful dsp, upgraded switches and encoders, new low profile sexy aluminum enclosure, different internal architecture and updated algorithms. Everything has been re-done from scratch. It is also USB powered and the output can drive a pair of headphones.β€œ

The manual doesn't seem to be online yet. From the FAQ:

What are the differences between MicroMonsta and MicroMonsta 2 ?

What MicroMonsta 2 doesn’t have from MicroMonsta:
  • The p6 rz1, rz2 and rz3 oscillators
  • Envelope shape parameter
  • 8-step lfo, scaler, arp sequencer and chorder
  • MIDI Out / Thru port
  • MPE (although this is planned in a very future firmware update)

What MicroMonsta 2 have that MicroMonsta doesn’t:
  • Updated oscillator algorithms, including some FM capable ones
  • FM capable filter
  • 3 oscillators, oscillator 3 being the FM source for oscillator 1 and filter
  • Per voice drive
  • The sound engine is voiced more aggressively
  • LFOs can be free running, key triggered or per voice with optional one-shot for using them as additional envelopes
  • More modulation slots with more sources, negating the need for the MicroMonsta scalers
  • Bi-timbrality (play 2 different sounds at the same time)
  • Different play modes: monotimbral, bitimbral or combi
  • Combi modes: monotimbral, stack, split or multi
  • Delay and reverb per timbre
  • Aluminum enclosure
  • Longer lasting switches and encoders
  • Headphones compatible output
  • USB power (USB B connector)

Demo sounds great. Very tempting.....I might have to sell something though. I have too many small boxes.

Sounds great, and I'm excited for all the new features! FM, drive, and reverb would be enough to make me excited, but add bitimbrality on top of that, and you've got a winning combo.

I am noticing that I'll need some adapters for my setup if I get one. I can't find a good shot of the back, but it looks like MIDI In is a single 3.5mm jack (probably same TRS config as Arturia stuff?), and audio out is a single stereo headphone jack.

2 x 6 voices of polyphony
What's this mean? Two timbres, six notes of polyphony each?

Lots of new goodies.

Although it looks like we lost the ability to delay/fade LFOs. My inner Juno is sad.

First demo sounds:

Sounds fantastic! And...even smaller??

P.S. That single audio out had me worried at first...but I believe it a TRS stereo out, correct? The demo shows quite a bit
of stereo spread on several patches. Cheers.

P.S.S. EDIT....just checked out the manual. It is a 3.5mm TRS stereo jack (Y-cable required). No worries at all. Cheers.

a few months ago, I had a few hundred dollars in my pocket and looked at the MM site, and saw that the MM was discontinued and the MM2 was on its way. I contemplated, and being impatient, I bought a used MM. Now that the MM2 is out, I'm very glad about my choice. MIDI on mini jack is a 100% deal killer for me. mini jack for audio out isn't a 100% deal killer, but really turns me off. c'est la vie. I hope others aren't as put off as me, but this one is off my list.

You get a cable with MIDI ports. But it also does MIDI over USB so not really a big deal...

Hey EvilDragon...are you gonna swap your original MM for a MM2? It looks (to me) like there is enough sonic difference (between the two) to justify having both. Just wondering what your thoughts were. No worries. Cheers.
