Here for the gear

I just got mine and it is very cool. Is any one else having an issue with using a sustain pedal? Mine is causing notes to play forever, so maybe polarity is reversed?

Your sustain pedal is OK, it's a (ugly) bug, contact me by email and I'll send a fix

I liked Cuboctahedron's post because it was witty, but thanks for all the useful detail. Sometimes inspired and deadpan wins even when the initial savoy's hilarious (see Percy Shelley's response to Thomas Peacock's satirical essay, "The Four Ages of Poetry").

How embarrassing to have the great “Evil Dragon” turned into “Ed.”

I always respectfully call him Mr. Evil Dragon...
But never Mr. ED.

I read there's an arp in the Micromonsta 2 as well? Is it programmable?

Yes. It has arp. You can see the button al the lower right and the user manual talks about it:

Arpeggiator style (up, triplet up, down, triplet down, up & down, random, as played)
2. Gate length
3. Octave spread
4. Speed (clock sync)
ARPG latch
off off
1. Arp on/off
2. N/A
3. N/A
4. Latch on/off

Does that USB B port also take MIDI in? Or do you have to use the 3.5mm stereo jack for MIDI?

MM1 could do full USB MIDI in/out, can't see why MM2 wouldn't.

Thanks. Good to have, although I'd prefer the one in the original.

Trying to figure out how to use it portably. I guess you'd need a USB battery bank with 2 outputs, 1 for your controller, one for the Micromonsta. And you'd need to make sure your controller has a MIDI DIN out.

You'd be mobile but need 3 cables.

Here for the gear
A Micromonsta III with USB Host and AA battery power (along with USB power for when out of batteries)... that would be perfect for my needs! Just a small keyboard controller with mini keys, the MM, a single cable. Wonderful!

I'm really liking the MM2 so far. It's easy to use. I do wish it had separate stereo outs along with the headphone out. I had to order a 3.5mm to split 1/4" adaptor cable to get a full stereo signal for recording. Will do a demo when that arrives.

Question for @ elektrosamplist
What is difference between "Vintage" and "Modern" settings in the voice parameters? It is not mentioned in the manual. Sounds like some variation to the envelopes.

Edit: In the manual, they are called "Poly 1" and "Poly 2". But on the synth, they are called "Vintage" and "Modern".

Yes there is a typo in the manual, I need to fix it.
Modern always allocate a new voice, whereas vintage re-assigns the same voice if the note is already playing, so yeah it affects the envelopes as retriggering an already playing voice make them not start from 0.

Ah, got it. May I recommend you also add those details in the next manual revision. Also, on page 15 there is a typo/spelling error "4. Filter enveloppe 2 amount"

Just for clarity - Analog would reassign the same voice only if you play the same key that the voice is already using, right? There's quite a distinction there. It shouldn't reuse the same voice with a different note unless we've reached max polyphony.
