Price

Do any know, is the Sweetwater pre-order price of $2499 the price during pre-order only, such that after the product starts shipping the price can be expected to go up, or will the price remain at $2499 for months to come?

I do see that the price on Arturia's website is $2899.

If the prices changes at all, I would expect it to go down, not up.

Can someone please make a demo that starts with a Key Hold drone, then the arpeggiator gets switched on?

They always show “retail” prices rather than “street” price—like the MxB at $2499 vs $1999.

Big Plus

I'm very impressed with this machine, though I will probably need to make a trip up to Sweetwater and hear it in person (6-hour car drive). But while I'm greatly impressed with its feature set, I can't stop thinking about the one bonus that really puts it over the top for me -- the real time editor/librarian.

To be able to change patches and have all the settings reflected instantly on the editor (which the hardware synth's knobs and sliders cannot do, i.e. they're not motorized), is a huge plus. You can see all the hardware settings at a glance via the software. Really cool. And then editing it via the software, too, is quite sharp.

And, the software editor has some extra parameters on it that the hardware synth does not. The Arturia team were really thinking smart on this whole system.

Everything on a. Synth is included, when demoing a synth with effects etc of course you will use them, they are part of the bleeding package

Might as well complain about using lfo cuz it ain't raw osc bro

Damn, each new demo makes me fall further in love with this beast. Really glad they are doing a tutorial series, I remember Gordon Reid in his Sound on Sound review mentioned that there are a lot of things to discover about how certain parameters morph which are not included in the manual - apparently Arturia wanted to preserve some of the magic and mystery of discovery so they omitted a bunch of details.

Yeah it's Bob Ross style. Dry comments.

Another great one. I just don't quite understand the desire (and this is certainly not the only video or Youtuber who does this) to demonstrate things like LFOs with pitch modulation. I get that it makes the LFO very obvious, but I would think filter modulation would get the job done just as well and be less grating on the ears. My wife made me turn the video off when I was watching it with her nearby because she found the sounds being made so grating.

Good old vibrato. I guess it's like marmite

That LFO3 has some cool features. Curves ranging from logarithmic to linear to exponential, symmetry (can make ramp up/down or anything in between), and that xLFO1 button is something I don't think any synth outside modular has ever done... like ring modulating two LFOs.

And the single button to make it into an AD envelope too.

I put in my cart and it only gave 15% off not the 20% the BF sale says it should be.

Edit: It gives 15% without the BF20 code and 20% with.

I didn't see a discount at all until I added the BF20, but once I did, the price dropped to $2k. Now debating whether to click checkout... do I really want to preorder... or wait for a used one in a year or two??

Update: couldn't do it. Deleting from cart. [email protected] their site is slow.

I cant believe these m## would sell a synth in the US for 2.000 US-Dollar = 1.674,43 Euro

and we, the neighbors have to pay 2400 Euro? **** off Arturia and global synth market. Thats more 700 Euro more. I remember when living in the US how cheap German equipment was sold THERE (like RME).
