You can get a prophet 6 module on reverb for 1500 on a good day. They won’t be listed there, but that’s what they sell for.

Hm...

Matrixbrute
Pro 2
Pro 3
PerFourMer
Prophet 12 desktop
Prophet 6 desktop
Prologue 16
Voltage Research Laboratory
Novation Peak
Hydrasynth

There’s a list to research. I’ve got a few of those, but really any of them would be welcome in my house.

Jupiter Xm gives you 4 synths and a drum machine in one box. You could add an Argon8m for some wavetable action or a Digitone to explore FM.

New? Peak, no doubt. One hell of a lot of synth for the money. Super flexible, sounds great.

Used, there’s quite the damn plethora of options.

edit: Oh, what would *I* get? Hm... more Eurocrack.

I know this is another list every synth-type thread, but my choices would be:

-Pro3 (personal choice as it would complement my setup the most, but it is a very versatile monosynth)

-secondhand Peak and a mono desktop like Erebus, Nyx or Microvolt 3900

-Hydrasynth (if you're not hung up on 'analogue' and looking for something uniquely different)

In addition to what already is there?

A used Tempest

A drum machine and/or a dual oscillator 6 voice analog poly synth in one. And some cache will be left for a stockpile of toilet paper.

A bidet is better. Hardware is always better.

Behringer td3
Behringer crave
ASM Hydrasynth DT
Elektron model: cycles or sample

So two monos
An interesting poly

i guess it's different these days with how powerful software is now, modern modular/eurorack options, etc... but there's really nothing else in hardware that touches the Nord G2. nothing. not even sure i'd suggest a G1. it might "sound better", but the G2 is soooo much more flexible/powerful. i wouldn't completely write off the G2 Engine, as unattractive as it might seem.

that said, it's hard for me to really suggest buying one now, mainly for the reasons that i sold it myself. they're too rare/expensive if anything goes wrong with it, and without the voice expansion board (if it doesn't have one already installed) you're sort of missing out. so torn on this, even years later. it still haunts me. the thing was amazing, sometimes i wish i still had it. always wished they made a desktop version, such a missed opportunity.

the Elektron Octatrack is another one that really has no equal, but i think it has as many negatives as it does positives. bought and sold it twice, sometimes i wish i still had one but then quickly recall everything i didn't like about it.

nothing else suggested so far has me excited at all, except for maybe the MC-707. that's probably what i'd buy (along with an SH-01A or something, already have a TR-8S and TB-03) if i had a spare $1500.

I know it’s not a synth, but if I were all alone I’d really want an audio looper of some sort. Something that can sync to your synth’s MIDI clock. Something like the Electro Harmonix 96000. Really fun.

$1500 would buy a hell of a lot of various canned goods for zombie apocalypse and if you drop cans they make sound, and After they’ve been used and cleaned they could then be turned upside down various sizes of canned goods and be turned in to cool drums you could even turn them the other way to where they are an empty container and put varying amounts of liquid in them and use something to tap the cans to make tuned cans and as they evaporate of course they’re going to detune, fully analog.

Bonus- it feeds both body and soul.

I'd go for a Moog Grandmother. It's a real quality musical instrument, unlike the mini key and other toy stuff that has flooded the market.

In addition to what I've got? More Eurorack modules, obviously.

In place of what I've got?

Blofeld, MPC1000, Mescaline, and Bastl Kastle.
