Another +1 for the arturia 636 spring, you can drive it nicely too for some dirt. I also like the spring sounds in Amplitube 4

Can't get why Twangström is flying under the radar. I absolutely love it and it sounds totally convincing to my ears. Versatile, complete control. Fun to modulate.
Also the softube is great although it's a one trick pony but it's great to have it in the now modular build Amp Room which is a killer combination. Cheers.

Seems like the top three recommended here are Arturia Rev SPRING-36, u-he Twangstrom and AudioThing Springs. You can download all three for free and shoot them out side by side, which I did and ran analog synths through.

Couple observations:

-Twangstrom has an insane CPU load IMO, like a 60% bump when engaged on an AUX bus, Arturia with around 20% and Springs at around 10%.
-The AudioThing Springs "GBS (stereo) - 6 Springs" has a crazy wide stereo field that I think could be very special for some cases and seems unique to this plugin.
-You can dial them all in to be pretty close to the same and it's splitting hairs at that point. I think it comes down to workflow and interface design. I much prefer AudioThings out of the three in this department, but to each their own!

The demo is generous, doesn't expire AFAIK, it just cuts out every 45 seconds, so you can really live with it a while to see if you like it.

Also no iLok licensing or dongle, registering was easy.
I give it 8/10 overall, I'm just cheap. But sound 9/10.

MTurboReverb includes springs as well if the OP would like to add those to the list for comparison also?

I tried a couple of real spring pedals, even those were hit and miss and they all sounded very different from one another.
I tried the Source Audio True Spring pedal and liked it pretty well.
Then I played through the Electro Harmonix Oceans 11 and was impressed by the spring emulation. It's exactly the sound I'm looking for. I wasn't blown away by the other reverb emus in the pedal so I might buy it just for the spring. But there are rumors of an upcoming stereo version- Oceans 12. I'll wait for that and hope the spring algorithm is the same or get the 11.

I have to comment, that TC Electronic Drip pedal is terrible! I guess it's cheap but wow.
I have the Source Audio... did you play around with it and so deep with the editor? It does everything... and every sort of Tremelo circuit, too. And in Stereo and takes TRS so you can use it just like a studio reverb unit without having to reamp it like a Normal gtr pedal.

It’s the BEST... I’d love to have a plugin that does what it does

+1 for AudioThing Springs - the first plug-in that I’m totally ok to use instead of one of my hardware units.

TWANGSTRÖM is now on sale for only 33,63 € via the NI website !

I think it is a great springreverb, more on the dark side.

Since my favorite is Arturia Spring...

...and I also have the Audiothing Springs (I hope there will be some new springs added, also, the reverb tail is too short sometimes)

...and I have the UAD (which is very hi-fi-ish and good )
...and the PSP (which is good too)
...and 2 strymon pedals with spring algos,

I´m pretty much covered whith spring reverbs.

It has bright mode. =)

Btw twangstorm in dark mode is the only one that sounds like my HW springs.
