I like labeled parameters. A logical UI for layout and navigation. The ability to copy / paste envelopes, oscillators, or entire engines.

And I love having multiple data entry methods:

-- inc / dec buttons for stepping thru values
-- sliders for fast movement thru values
-- knobs
-- clicky data wheel (can be more fluid and precise than sliders or knobs)
-- buttons (to toggle with, like switching on/off an entire operator stack)
-- direct numerical entry of values

When I'm tweaking and experimenting with FM parameters, having different ways to input values really helps workflow and staying in the zone.

We all know that an FM sound can sometimes turn wildly on the smallest of value changes, so having intuitive ways to quickly audition various settings is priceless.
