Sequential Pro 3

Hmmmm, this is interesting.

If its true, any speculation on what improvements Dave has made?

I took the MB over the Pro 2 by a narrow margin. Wonder if this posssible product will fill that gap?

Maybe this time full analog oscs with 4 oct keyboard and slightly expanded paraphonic & sequencing features?

It was a close decision for me when looking for mono as well, with the MxB just edging out the subsequent37 and the pro2...
Am rather interested in what sequential have cooked up in their new mono! Fingers crossed for an unruly discrete vco behemoth, but I'd hazard a guess towards another slick hybrid...

I think it may be a double release.

Prophet 12 and Pro 2 have both been discontinued, so I agree its highly likely it will continue the same hybrid tradition. I'm guessing the filter section will be expanded upon, particularly on the Prophet 12 replacement. ...but what will he call it? Prophet 13? Prophet 12 MkII?

Prophet 12 Rev 2.
Pro-3.

It would be a surprise if two synths was released at the same time. If it happens, I hope both keep linear-FM, prophet-X filter on the 12. replaced keybed with fatar, and added effects.

If it's just going to be MKII's of previous products then it makes sense that they would let the remaining stock sell out before announcing sequels.

This synthanatomy article is quite cringe worthy. Let’s dial down that hyperbole a bit. It’s just synths, there is no danger unless you touch the power supply mains while it’s plugged in...

<Sigh>

The only clear indication here is that someone registered a trademark.

I would hope it's markedly different from the Pro 2 much like 2 was from One, but I'm not necessarily holding my breath given the Rev2. Incremental upgrades to the same basic beast when it comes to gear in this price range leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

A pro-2 with 3 sequencer lanes would be amazing

Like Moog One has Tri-sequencing

Pro-3

Three sequencer lanes? There are 16 on the Pro 2.

Can 3 pro 2 oscillators be playing separate melodies at once?

Yes no problem. All 4 oscillators in fact.
But its paraphonic so gate data is monophonic.
You can get tricky with oscillator levels in the sequencer to fake it

So cool. Maybe pro-3 can have 3 separate gates

The other Sequential speculation thread has alot more character, and you can make it sound bad. This one has a bigger sweet spot, but it feels like a digital emulation. Or maybe that thread has the brash Curtis filter, and this one, the SSI2144. Either way, I think they both can be used to make music later, instead of right now.

First tease... (no Rick Roll). From their FB post.

Front hinge. New (non-Prophet style) knobs.

I'm not even kidding - Id need both a 2600 and either a Pro2 or a new Pro3. Both are so so strong in such different ways. And plenty complimentary. Picking just one is like picking Water over Food or Delays over Reverbs. I'm not sure I could.

(not a shabby core kit, really, a 2600 + Pro 2/3, btw)

I think I could suffer through that simple combo.

interesting, i hadn't seen encoders/knobs like that from them since..Tempest!

..front hinge suggests of course a minimoog type tilt control panel

I agree. The sequencer on the 2600 is kind of repetitive and basic and it’s such a beefy synth that begs to be sequenced and patched while you tweak it with two hands.

Having a pro2 style sequencer driving it with CV will be a match made in synth heaven. When I had a pro-2 it always benefited from a Analog osc.

What if the caps are lighted? Why is "SHOW" in all caps and in color?

(cbmd be like <facepalm> "they're already off in the weeds")

The caps just gave me a hint of: https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/sifam-s...encoder-knobs/

I am going to try to do the same thing I did last year and run straight for the Sequential room first on the first day - hopefully I'll find Dave alone like last time and get some hands on with his new baby.

Also, this time I am going to remember to take a picture with him.
