The XM is VA at least, but not ACB, instead something that uses a lot less horsepower and as such has a lot more voices. So possibly a derivative of the SN synth engine in the Xa/Integra.

I'm totally cool with this JU-06A effectively killing the hilariously high prices of the JU-06s I've seen for sale.

Spooky

It does make me wonder if synth manufactures read these forums. I posted these ideas some time ago. (Although these X's don't seem to be analog, they follow similar form factor/idea)

Appears so. Alas not further expansion of the JDXA's analog tech as I was hoping :(

You're being ironic right?
I am so not the consumer that this sh*t is aimed at.
The only Roland thing that got my attention for 5 minutes was the TR8s. Everything else? Plug-ins in plastic boxes with pretty coloured lights.
Next.

The JP-X case looks absolutely fantastic (apart from the patch buttons) - shame its not ACB or a hybrid like the JD-XA

User interface is very important

I don’t, given the state of the MS1 filter. Paul Barker did a better job with his and he’s one guy, as did GStorm on his 101VCF modular

Bugger. I was just fairly happy with my current rig. I am still a sucker for Roland kit.

If only Roland had taken this path instead of the green & red things they have been doing the last few years.

That's really what I see - a System 8 done right.

The price of the Jupiter X seems very high for what is essentially another VA/modelled box of tricks. I'll still check it out when it becomes available though I suspect for the same price a Prophet 6/OB6 will smoke it sound-wise.

It'll be interesting to hear the JP-X once the demos start coming in.

Sure, I'd have preferred an analogue (though to be fair I don't lust wildly after the JP range like others do), but there's still potential for this to be a great sounding synth.

Still a nice announce from Roland i think- nice to see them at least giving full size treatment to this synth too.

£1319 for the XM.

Seems rather high for a minikey synth?

They will smoke it, but they are just synths - looks like this is being pitched as an all rounder with drums etc

Haha lol, actually my first impressions are good, I mean finally Roland they try to be competitive. See for example the smaller synth the JUPITER-Xm, this synth is 5 – timbral with huge polyphony and with a performance oriented sequencer. Here is some basic specs. The specs are impressive, but I know some guys will complain about the fact that those new synths are digital. And to be honest the prices aren’t good, the smaller version costs $ 1499, these are a lot of money for a 37 mini keys synth….

here is some basic specs for the smaller the JUPITER-Xm:

The price is unreasonable and its a shame because the Jupiter Xm looks very appealing as a small performance synth with keys...
