KeyStep Firmware Update

Arturia has a Firmware update for the Keystep, but is only available for with a PC or Desktop Mac. I have an iPad, so I’m out of luck! :(

How terrible!

Do you have any friends with PCs or Macs? They can help you easily if so.

May I suggest bringing your key step and a usb cable to a community rec center or a library and use their pc or Mac to update.

Thank you!

I did however talk too a tech at Arturia, and said they would take the matter into consideration, to be able too allow IOS, and other tablet users. To download from a tablet. It would take a while though.

That would be interesting, but in the interim, yes, head to anywhere you can find a PC to do the firmware update.

If you’re at an Antarctic sub-station or the like, there has to be a scientist or three around to help.

If you’re out camping, in a small village or somewhere without the necessary resources, you could possibly consider mailing the Keystep to Arturia for updating, as long as you can trust your mail system, or afford the costs of shipping and insurance.

Otherwise, I hope some day soon someone in your community will get a PC, laptop or otherwise; they can be quite useful for a lot of things, not the least of which is health care.

How to I download this update for my Deep Thought computer?

Annoyingly they have changed something with the sync output which means it won't trigger my Oberkorn clock. I use the Keystep as master clock source for everything but it feels like the CV and sync stuff on the Keystep is waiting for a trigger / clock source. All the midi stuff seems fine. It's probably an easy thing to sort but I'm tired and cannot see anything that says something like internal clock.

I'm open to thinking the OP might be from the wilds of Uganda (or out in Appalachia or far western North Carolina, for that matter, or northeast Maine, you get the idea), so I give him the benefit of the doubt. A Keystep and IPad is an odd combo, though.

Could be Stephen King! He hates computers.

Will this support my Ad Lib card on my 286 ISA computer running DOS?

I can firmly say no. Though I miss that sound!

I will admit that is an odd combination. Considering I bought the Keystep before the iPad.

Had been considering buying a Behringer D too use with the Keystep, but didn’t buy one.

If i was Steven King, I wouldn’t be on here, if i hate computers.

Big difference between Steven King, the politician, and Stephen King, the writer.

So you have a condo and a regular supply of electricity — well, that’s a start.
