PaulStretch online service?

anyone know of a PaulStretch service online?

upload a sound file
it stretches to hours
you download stretched version

I did that years ago but can't find it now. Hoping to avoid plugin and separate program installs just to do it.
Maybe it was a hobby and they closed it down, I understand that.

Any other ambient mega hyper extreme stretchers out there online?

i think it's just an executable program that doesn't need to be "installed". (??)

Never seen an online version. There is a regular executable program, works fine to this day.

You could probably set up your own server to do that

Exactly. Also, nobody's going to pay for absurd amounts of bandwidth and storage this would require.

http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/

Download binary for Windows from https://sourceforge.net/projects/hyp...ulstretch/2.2/ , get the paulstretch_win32-2.2-2.zip file, unzip and start the executable. No need to get Audacity (though Audacity is pretty good, but I can't really imagine you not having a wave editor already ).

I wouldn't say that.

There's a reason ML-based image resizing websites have dimension limits and all of 'm are filled with ads

Stretch a 1 MB wavefile 10 times and you'll need to offer a 10 MB download, or perform extra conversion work to offer it as an mp3 file. For the "8 hours of Beethoven" people upload to Youtube, you need even more.

ML-generated rescaled PNGs at least have a somewhat manageable size and a conversion process that is done under a minute. Not so with audio.

You can probably develop the whole thing on an AWS free tier account, but just see how quickly you run out of that (or have to put strict limitations on uploads).

I just noticed this the other day. I have the stand alone version of PaulStretch, but was also pleasantly surprised to see it in Audacity.

Back when I was running media.io, I was doing 60 TB of transfer a month on one server, all financed by user donations. You can cut good deals on traffic if you have volume.

More time to create\monitor this thread than to install PS.

Also, a web browser is a "separate program install".
