Vintage gear value "forecast"?! Toyo Gakki Ult DS-4 or Roland TR-808?

Two things that have been consistently good to me financially: synths and real estate. The former tended to appreciate much faster than the latter although the numbers are smaller. The ROI on my older synths has been incredible but I bought most of today's pricier ones cheap a long time ago because I couldn't afford new gear at the time. But I don't think you'll get hurt buying something like an SH-101 at the right price. You could use it for a few years and probably get your money back. I've yet to see a $2,500 808 in recent times.

I hereby give you the most accurate forecast you'll ever get:
Unless an item will create water or protect you from marauding hordes of desperate half-humans seeking your water, said item will continue to be worth less and less until it is worthless. Even MPC60s.
You heard it here first.

One for sale here in Scotland right now, from a pal of mine for 2,500GBP, with valuable Kenton kit fitted as well.

I paid 2200GBP 3 years ago, someone else I know sold for 2400GBP last year.

All in good condition.

Here for the gear

I recently sold some vintage gear and got 5 times what I paid for it. Ain't never gonna get that kind of return on investment from the Behringer consumer toy gear.

I had three 808s, all sold.

My Yocto sounds just as good, with better functionality.

I'm expecting the rd8 to nail the sound and have the best features yet.

Ko has 909’s @ $2700 and $3200 US recently. 303s @ $1700 and $2000. That sounds pretty reasonable to me vs eBay.

And I think i already know that I'm not missing anything - actually, I'd miss the SysEx dump feature on the TR-808!!! :-)

Come visit your buddy in Idaho and I’ll hook you up! Can’t help with the SysEx though.
