I remember it was Nick Batt who mentioned he got his replaced, but there were other reports of the same issue. By now they should've fixed it I guess.

My slutty month continues. Just bought a Juno 106 and immediately regretted it! Still hasn’t even shown up. I can’t keep it and the DeepMind, and I actually cant imagine not having menus to dive. As they say, the only thing worse than not getting what you want is getting what you want! Either a DM12D or a 106 will be up for sale soon!

ProAudioStar has them for $159 on Reverb right now. Mind you, I ordered mine new on eBay from someone for $5 less, only because when I went to checkout I found that Reverb has started charging sales tax for my state, even if it’s shipping from another state. That looks like it’s a recent thing on Reverb and not for all states, so you might want to check...but yeah, you can pick them up pretty cheap right now, but probably not for too long since they’re discontinued.

One of these tl c1 compressors real cheap off eBay. Made an offer and was accepted. Had the eq2 a long time ago and wasn’t at all bad, tl stuff seems to get a bad rap here but I really liked the eq2.

Just an update on my c1 buy as I need to give the seller some spiritual kudos.

He’s based in London I’m in Devon but by pure fluke he was actually in Devon 5 minutes from me with the compressor. So we arranged to meet today to sort and he rings me and says I need to go to the dump but have some stuff you may want do you want to meet first.

He said you can have anything for free as I’m ditching it.

I ended up with the c1, a pair of absolute spirit 2s, a smoke machine, couple of small strobes, a dslr gimble and proper arm, a transformer and a decent kenwood double tape deck which I’m gonna have some fun with.

Fair play to the man and super steal for what I paid.

Ha actually im gonna buy a pack of glow sticks, turn the lights out, turn the smoke machine and strobes on and put a dance planet tape in the tape deck connected to some bass heavy inaccurate spirit monitors

Then wait for my kids to look at me in disgust and ask what that sh** music I'm playing is as they walk past listening to modern trap over their iphone speakers

One day, maybe not now, maybe not in 10 years, but one day they will understand, they will come to realise the wisdom of the spirit monitor + smoke + glow sticks combination.

Trap over iphone speakers.

That's funny, and ironic. I remember my country dad looking at me in disgust when I played my prog rock, and him asking me to turn that ratchet down.

Looks like ratchets have come full circle.

Sitting here at work with one of the ukeleles I bought sitting in a drawer next to me. This really is a hedonistic existence I've found myself in.

It has been an effects kind of month (week, actually; this has all been since Monday):

Lexicon DualFX card (for PCM-81) - finally got a reasonable deal on one; these things definitely have been qualifying for the "seller must be on crack" type deals on eBay and Reverb over the last year or so.

So then I was morally compelled to get Italo's Revelation Collection PCM-81 preset set to go with it...

Ever since getting an Eventide DSP7000 about a year ago, I've been thinking I should have aimed higher, so I scored a pretty good deal on Orville to replace my DSP7000.

Snagged 3x 2MB SRAM memory cards to go with it (and for some other old synths that need 'em, these are good things to have lying around)

So at this point, I was feeling pretty confident that I was done for a good long while...moron that I am...

Not one HOUR after I got confirmation that the Orville was actually tendered to a FedEx location, I fell into an un-pass-up-able deal for an Eventide H8000FW *with* an EVE/NET remote. Crap...really???!?!?!?!?!

More cables to go with that stuff...I swear I have a crapton of extra cables but every time I look for something specific, me no have exactly what I need.

Non-effects stuff I've been putting off purchasing for a while now, but since I'm going off the deep end, why the hell not get it over with:

Sector101 DataBlade32 (multi-Yamaha MCD64 memory card)

StereoPing Synth Controller (with damn near all the overlay templates cuz apparently I have way too many old rack synths...)

End Result:

I'm pretty certain my wife is probably gonna kill me reasonably soon. In an effort to avoid that slow and painful death, I'm gonna have both an Eventide DSP7000 AND an Orville up for sale in the very near future...

Thanks!

It's late in the month but I couldn't wait until August. Bought myself the greatest 16-voice VCO + FM/Wavetable hybrid synth ever made after getting tired of seeing it on my wishlist for the past 6 months. I guess this means Korg owns my soul now.

Congrats!

I settled for the minilogue XD but they since lowered the prices on the Prologue and I have been thinking I maybe should have waited and gone for the big dog instead. That said, I love the sound (just not the "baby" keys on the XD) and I'm happy that the developer community for custom multi osc and effects really seems like it has taken root.

Thanks!

I'm still trying to justify keeping the Mini XD on my wishlist for next summer. I think using it with the sequencer for the Pluck and Chips oscillators might be the ticket.

Problem is I already have a Mono/Mini, and I'm not sure I want to go down the road of buying updates to things I already have.

I knew going in that the mini XD had some improvements over the Pro (effects were the seller for me) but no stores local that carry them so I couldn't put my hands on it. I've had enough boards with mini/small keys that I understand there is a difference, but these really are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay light and plasticky. I feel a little concerned about longevity...

After some sh#t with one of the local stores I cancelled my June order of a digital piano. Contacted another local store and got the best service ever and after playing every piano and sy the in the store came home with this:

This is by far the best keyboard action of all digital piano's. As close as you can get to the acoustic counterparts. The Fatar keybeds seem so flimsy now. At a whopping 70 lbs/35 kgs, it was quite a haul, but worth every drop of sweat.

Next on the shopping list: new cans and a clonewheel

Picked up a pair of Barefoot monitors. I will be conspicuously absent from these threads for several months.
