Can i input a synth directly into a dj mixer inputs ?

Hi,
Im thinking of incorporating my forthcoming Novation Circuit mono synth
into my live dj sets.
I use a DJM 900 Nexus2 mixer.

Is it possible to take the headphone socket out and split to 2 x RCA
and then plug into the line input of one of the Pioneer's mixer inputs ?
(I want to use the synth to construct drone layers to add to the dj tracks.)

Would i need a pre amp for the synth..Or is the level gain already likely to be too high ?

thx

That should work fine with no issues. I would however use the line out jack. You can easily just get a cable that is 1/4" on one end and an RCA on the other
