Foreigner, Juke Box Hero

Hi, can anyone identify the synth in this bassline into?

I'm thinking it's a Roland SH2 or Arp2600. Anyone know what it could be?

My friend thinks it is a bass guitar through an effect.

Dam I bought that tape when it can out, I remember turning my dad on to it.

definitely not a real bass guitar, check out how useless the guy is for most of the song:

sounds like it's done live. looks like he's got a Jupiter-8, maybe split for bass and chords? not sure, i think i'm hearing more synth parts later in the song. some synth lead going on as well.

good question though, never really thought about it. the studio version does remind me a bit of that Joe Walsh sound, which i think was done on a 2600 (??).

still nothing, but i did find that the synths on that track were played by Thomas Dolby and Larry Fast.

here's a guy pulling it off on a Moog Mother-32:
