Yamaha RX5 push button problems

So I've got this Yamaha RX5 drum machine. A few of the push buttons didn't work so I opened it up, cleaned all of the contacts thoroughly, put it back together and wala! The buttons work! HOWEVER, now several buttons that DID work before AREN'T working. Wtf? Took it back apart and cleaned it/made sure all the screws were tight, made sure all the traces were cleaned several more times. Still, no change. Any ideas what would cause this kind of blasphemy?

Nevermind fixed it, turns out I had scraped away some of the conductive material along with the corrosion and broken the trace to some of the buttons.

I'd also like to know what kind of conductive paste or whatever you used. I've got one of these, and while it's stable now, it's only a matter of time before it needs service. Report back after a few months of heavy use to let us know how it's holding up, too!

Just clean the contacts under the buttons, its a 1 hour job at max, then it works perfect and you have the best sounding 8bit drum machine ready to rock again. Did this to my RX5 3 years ago and its still works perfectly today. Just water will do.
