MPC Live disappointment. Suggestions?

I have a nice set up that I'm mostly happy with right now.

As much as I can abuse my synths for new sounds, the overall sound of your setup can get predictable sooner or later.

To avoid that, I thought I needed a sampler. A lot of room for creativity and different sounds.

I thought, Akai would know what it's doing and went with a MPC Live.

It's pretty much a small DAW running on an embedded computer. It can drive many machines around you, like sequencing them, sending program change messages etc. All is cool and working.

Its sampler however...

It cannot do pitch gliding. Which could be considered a luxury and CPU intensive.

But what about it cannot do xfade looping? It's a fundamental part of sampling for me.

Akai's hardware build quality is superb. All the encoders and pads are wonderfully responsive. And MIDI driving capabilities are nice.

I'm returning this gear. Any recommendations for a proper sampler?

My setup already has two elektrons maybe I should go with octatrack?
