Using my Moog Grandmother as standalone Spring Reverb

Hi I got a Moog Grandmother. I know there is Reverb In and Reverb Out jacks on it but it only gives 100% wet reverb this way. I cannot use the ‘reverb mix’ knob. Is there a way I can use the Grandmothers Reverb like a guitar pedal and use the mix knob as well?

You'd have to run your guitar through the instrument input on the back of the Grandmother which sends it through the mixer (there's no level control), feeds it through the filter and VCA as well (though you could patch to bypass the filter if you want). Set the VCA switch to drone so you don't have to hold a note on the keyboard to hear your guitar.

If you're running a high-level or Eurorack level signal and not just a guitar like I assumed, you could feed it into the VCA IN patch point, set the VCA to drone, and then you'll have full use of the reverb mix knob. The drawback with this method is you won't get any sound from the GM's oscillators or filters. If you want to use the GM's filter or even mixer and oscillators, patch your external source there. The noise in on the mixer is a good option.

I know I've mentioned this before in the huge Grandmother thread, but that spring reverb as a standalone product (like a Moogerfooger), with a mix control would be a big seller I believe.

Thanks for the information. It is actually a line level. I am running a Dacking one pre- through it to mic a snare drum.
