For those who dont know: Cubase Loopmash was included up to Cubase 7 I believe. Now its as iphone/ipad app only.

Basically: is there a VST that does similar thing?

That is:
-you load different loops in 1-8 tracks, it splices them automatically and sets them per step (16th up to 4 bars).
-you set step length per track (!)
-the "Loopmash" magic: it plays a grove based on replacing/alternating steps from a master track that you can pick by replacing them with steps off the other tracks. The way it chooses/replaces the steps is either by some form of spectral similarity between steps of master vs. other tracks or other couple of parameters that you can set. You can fine tune by selecting number of steps sounding at once, number of tracks active and % probability/threshold it will play, gate time of steps, and a few other things. The real cherry on top is you can click on any sliced step and also get it and it only to play in one of several ways from reverse to repeat (stutter) to pitched or excluded or % increase its probability of playing etc.

Its a very poor-mans octatrack in some ways and I always got really interesting groove-scapes out of it. Also, I never found anything quite like it for simplicity of use for what it does.It just was really good and quick at loading/splicing loops (not single shots!) and off you go....create new unexpected sonic scapes!

So, as Steinberg has phased it out (why oh why?!) is there any other similar "loop masher" that allows to easely create a grove scape out of loops and not single samples? Everything else out there seems to be based on single sample "retriggers" per step as opposed to placing a splice per step for you... AND then also sequencing it anew for you.....
