Can you recommend a good MIDI to USB cable?

I'm using a Windows 7 computer and just got a Focusrite Clarett 8pre to use for an audio interface. The Focusrite only has one MIDI in and one MIDI out.

I have 2 or 3 hardware instruments that I need to hook up with MIDI, and I don't really want to spend $100+ on a rack-mount MIDI hub. I'd like each hardware instrument to have it's own in/out, instead of trying to chain them all together using MIDI through.

Do the MIDI to USB cables work well?

I was thinking about buying a few of these, which would let me just plug my hardware instruments into the computer for MIDI. USB IN-OUT MIDI Cable Converter, LiDiVi Professional Piano Keyboard to PC/Laptop/ Mac MIDI Adapter Cord for Home Music Studio - 6.5Ft: Musical Instruments

Can anyone recommend any specific brands that are good or should be avoided?

I don't know the one you've linked, but I use this one: Roland UM-ONE mk2 | Sweetwater
I think somebody who knows what's inside these MIDI to USB cables could tell you if this is a good one. My guess is they are all the same.

Second vote for the Roland UM-One. I used it a couple of years and it does what is was meant to.

Thank you! It has a brand name that I recognize, so that gives me some extra confidence. Thanks for the help.

ESI MIDIMATE II, has the great advantage that the 2 plugs auto detect and so ca not only be used as midi in and out but 2x midi in or out as well.

Do you know, are they all created equal or are some better than others?

Can you use a bunch of them at one time or does it start getting wonky with timing?
