iPad controlling a bunch of synths?

Picked up my first iPad. I’ve seen various midi control apps for iPads that look cool and super useful. Something I can send midi cc and sysex to my hardware synths would be sweet. I imagine some of you have done this already.

What iPad apps do you guys recommend?
How do you handle midi connectivity? To a large midi interface?
I’ve seen wireless midi via Bluetooth.. workable?

Thanks!

midi designer pro2 is pretty good , patchbase is a decent librarian and soundquest appeared a while ago , lemur , loads and loads.
usb camera kit generally works , many usb interfaces work (just check first) , i also use a alesis iodock 2.
you can plug it into digitakt and other usb devices with camera connect kit too ,
bluetooth works fine , ive used roland a-01 , other are fine.

discchord is my main go to website for ios stuff .

youll need a host app , something like AUM , audiobus 3 , cubase .

grab everything from bram bos , audio damage , aufx space, push , virsyn , ... so many to choose from and many are under $5

and theres an ios area on gearsluts to dig through.
