The Furby organ video made my daughter weep when I informed her they weren’t made any more. (Luckily we found a mk2 version)

I luv this guy. I spend all my time watching YouTube, reading GS, fantasizing about “what if” while he just “does it”. Luvs it.

I met him at an event. Super nice and super synthtastic and synthafull.
(I was supposed to lend him my Arp Solina)..

This fella is great. On one of his facebook posts he said when he was young he couldn't afford an MS20, so he tried to build it himself!!

If you put your mind to something. . . !!

I owe this guy an apology. On another thread I wasn't too positive about him however that was merely a reaction to being completely overwhelmed and bombarded by his super enthusiastic nature and energy. The thread in question was nothing to do with his mad scientist antics so it took me a while to recognise it was the same person.

I watched a video on his studio space and living arrangements and he sounds like a super nice and down to earth guy. That said, I do maintain he'd be exhausting to hang with for any more than 5 minutes (even though those 5 minutes would be an absolute blast).

Yeah, at times I think his acting is a bit over the top, but hey, it's this kind of presentation that makes a youtube channel successful. And it's entertaining nonetheless. Imagine him presenting his content like a teacher. Only 10% would watch.
I like the guy.

He certainly deserves an honourary gearslut doctorate or something along those lines.

I wonder though - is it really acting? He seems genuine to me.

Gotta admit, I sort of had a similar initial impression. I think it’s because, from experience, super enthusiastic people are usually all gob with nothing to offer. I swear a lot of people like to be annoying just to get a rise out of people.

But not this guy. I think he’s just genuinely a bit mad, but also very creative, clever and hilarious.

His ideas as well are so unique. I mean i’m impressed when someone builds a plate reverb in their garage. But the 100 oscillator synth? Synth bike? Flame thrower organ?? The man his off his rocker! I think i’ve watched all of his vids by now, a lot of them more than once.

it seems pretty full-on at first, but you get used to it quickly.
the 'narrator' voiceover, it's meant to be funny, whacky,
harks back to the time of Open University, and TV shows that
encouraged kids to be inventive. not just airhead reality tv
crap with a bunch of morons checking their hair, or vile lying
fake shows like the xfactor.

much better than all these crap 'expert' presentation youtubes
with droning boring self-indulgent chat that teaches you precisely
nothing, same old same old product presentations.

much more thought-out than it appears, and a lot goes
into it. it's consistent and professional, and it takes a lot of
resourcefulness to live in London now with superinflated rents.

Markus Fuller is good too.
