This time I’m starting.
I plan on getting some CDs today to listen to. Yeah, I still listen to CDs.

Not sure it's fair to start the thread given you haven't bought anything to show off in it.

Upgraded my Reason to 10. I was a little reluctant but I felt like 9.5 was a bit of a crappy place to be stuck at, here’s hoping that 10 resolves Mac performance issues. For now at least got a few new instruments to noodle with.

Just clicked "buy now" on Thomann's website.

Getting some MIDI cables, some audio cables, Roland RPU-3 triple pedal unit, 2x Yamaha FC7 (gonna swap the pot in them to make them 10kOhm linear so they play well with my Kurzweil PC3K8), Korg nanoKEY Studio (for portability). That's about it. Quite uninteresting.

Oh, I might also buy New Sonic Arts full bundle, I got 40% off coupon thanks to GDPR. Yay!

The nanokey studio is quite interesting. If you’re using Gadget, or other Korg apps you’ll love how things are already mapped. It’s a lot of fun. I kinda wish they’d make one with more keys but that would kill the portability aspect to a degree.

I don't use Gadget at all - no rotten fruit products in this house. Ever. Now, if they ever port it to Windows, I could think about it. Tough chance, though.

I bought it basically to take on the road whenever that happens, along with my Surface 4 Pro, to have some MIDI input and controls to tweak. Should be perfect for that.

Going out of my mind weighing up whether to get the Rev2.

I have an OB-6 as the sole poly, and whilst the sound is divine, I'm now noticing its limitations. From what I've heard of the Rev2, including about an hour's hands on recently, it sounds very nice, so I can't understand why folks are so down on it.

You should definitely reconsider that. I was very anti Apple before, but why should I not buy an iPad when you can get all these amazing apps for it? That is just itrational, imo. Now I have two iPads, an iPhone and an iPod.

Yeh, not gonna happen. I'm Windows4life guy. That won't change. The only apples in my house are the ones you can actually eat, and it will stay that way. Apple's products are just too expensive for what they are, and I don't like the OS, or the way they operate. It's just not for me.

Nice! Now can you show us some nice metallic wave table sweeps? That synth is great at that, and many more!

On the serious tip, it's actually a lot of fun! It's great being able to load your own samples in and then run them through the Waldorf wavetables and the filters, and then use that to FM mod the other oscillators. The Fatar keybed is nice, responsive velocity and aftertouch. It has the flavor and design of an old 80s synth in many ways, simple but very enjoyable to use.

Korg prologue 16 voice arrived today! Because one can never have too many poly synths. Really is quite different than my Prophets or the JDXA. It does somewhat remind me of a different OB6. Very clean and hifi sounding though. Less brightness. If that makes sense. Now my eyes are set on either an Electro 6 or a Stage 3. Buying Keyscape few months ago has not quenched that lust.
