Thats excusable when the thread contains golden information like this:

It's probably not quite as much of a necessity with the XT since it has so many knobs (the original MW 1 only has a single knob), but it's always nice to have supported editor. Micheal is a great guy too!

shows how noob i still am. I'm too scared to use an editor or sysex with my xt, since i broke my first mw2 with sysEx. I just don't see how sending midi info would overload or fry a synth.. rr.

I think i'm going to just give away my mw2 if anyones interested. issue with it is the display reads "waiting for host"

but yeah.. its just collecting dust..

Here is a link to several patch banks you could try. There some great sounds in these presets. I have owned an XT since it was first released and have loved it.

oh that's a pity. such a nice machine.
looks like some data stream got interrupted.
now, why don't you go to the Waldorf mailing list and ask for a factory reset code? (probably hold a few buttons at startup)

Perhaps this could be of use (of course do your own research first and double check everything before performing such an action)

Quote:
Q: How to erase/reset the MWII/XT flash ROM ?

A: Press and hold UTILITY + UNDO during powering up the synth.
This will erease all sounds and data inside the MWII/XT. You will have to upload the OS then to use it again. ^

A bit of a lame question but does anybody know whether the XT rack module (not the keyboard) has factory demos and how to activate them?

Yes. As per the µWave XT cookbook:

To give you a better idea of the numerous sound capabilities, we have developed a Demo-Mode that can be entered by pushing the Play/Shift and the Power/Standby button at the same time.
Suggest you check out this EXCELLENT site by a very kind man called Carbon111

I'm quite good with my Microwave XT industrial post nuclear apocalypse acidic orange Nextel finish. Friends think it's very 'steam punk' but I will not let them touch my XT's knobs because they all have beard wax on their hands and fingers.

Are prices on these things (along with the Q) getting absolutely r3tarded these days? Do people really pay as much for them as the prices on Ebay listings would indicate? I feel stupid for not buying back ups for my Q and XT earlier, then... They're getting quite long in the tooth, and one of these days they're going to crap out on me, that I know. How much will I have to pay to replace them then? Sheesh.
