Too expensive.
Lets hope most buyers feel differently, if they sell enough, 2018 will see super low prices on the used market just like the Bass Station 2

Is the new Sound on Sound issue available yet? It isn't on their site so can't buy the review PDF.

One important point mentioned in that video: the digital effects are mixed IN PARALLEL to the analogue output of the filters. So for those that are worried about that, don't be.

Yeah, there's a psychological impact once prices crash four figures. That electric piano does sound good, though - need to hear more of that.

Notice how they're demonstrating a polysynth with a button-pad thingy instead of a real keyboard to draw in those who fear or reject the black n whites.

Price is totally in line for what you're getting, assuming the build quality is up to snuff. Looks like a super nice product to me and it sounds great so far.

I'm not in the market for such a synth though. If I'm going to sell the gear I already own and like to buy something, I'm going balls out and getting the Quantum.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying it's not.
Anything around the 500 mark you can lust over and potentially buy on a drunken Friday night. Above 1,000 though and it becomes a purchase worthy of serious debate, budgeting and shall we say partner relations.

More like cross promo of existing lines as its a Novation controller, the ask audio video also uses a Novation synth as keyboard.

Perhaps they asked for it to be this way, nothing wrong with that.

So, the 17 wavetables: 17 single waves or 17 morophable multiwaves (like Waldorfs etc)?

Looks/sounds promising. A little surprised at the price, but everything can't be Behringer prices.

I'd say it's very competitive at under half the price of a Modal or Quantum. A more basic screen and no keyboard, but the guts of it are comparable. NCOs like the Modal vs the Quantum's fixed-rate DSP ones. Eight multimode analogue filters and VCAs. Not as many modes as the Modal but beats the Quantum's lowpass only. I hope the voices can be panned.

The weedy audio on the Ask.Audio vid had me doubting it slightly, but the other vids sound very promising.

Edit: Thinking about it, the Prophet 12 desktop is 400-500 quid more than this, and that has ho-hum Curtis filters and barely any knobs!
