Hopefully we get an analog poly from Novation.

Don is working for Roland as well and we haven't seen any analog synth from them. He can work on other things, alpha testing, making videos, etc. Who knows.

AFAIK, Don just program presets, that's what he's known for. Him working with Novation or anyone doesn't mean all that much, unless you happen to like the kind of sounds he programs.

He says he's joined Novation in late 2020 as a sound designer.
It would be strange of Novation to hire him now for Peak sound design when its years after its initial release. It could be that he was hired to design some patches for the AFX station, but being hired at the end of 2020 for that seems a little bit late, they should have hired him a few months before its launch so there are patches available at launch time (unless they are planning to add patches for the AFX to their website like they did with the Peak with a large number appearing quite a long time after it was released).

Best case scenario is there's something new in the works and he's working on presets for it, worse case scenario is there's some new patches coming for something already existing synth, middle case scenario there's a Peak firmware update with a few new features which is accompanied with some new patches.

What exactly is wrong with current offerings?

I would buy a Summit desktop. Don't have rooms for the keys, and 8 voice on the Peak is too little.

Stop with the sensationalism, please.

Korg has digital polysynths, analog polysynths, and hybrid polysynths.

Novation has 2 of the 3.

I would like to see another polysynth from Novation, this time fully analog.

For some, it’s the car leasing mentality - when the lease is up, it’s time to “upgrade”.

That’s definitely not me, I have gear in my studio that ranges from brand new to over 50 years old. Lol

That's great. Doesn't stop them offering something new for people who didn't take to the Peak for whatever reason.

The fact that you have brand new gear in your studio tells us you are susceptible to the "upgrading" you claim to be against.

Once again it's not clear what are you looking for from "fully analog" that Novation Peak doesn't provide.

Hi guys!

I finally got a Peak.

Second impression: awesome.

Why a second impression you might wonder?

Well, because my first impression from nearly four years ago (when I got to test out a demo model) has not changed.

It was awesome then, too.

Hey, welcome to the club (I have the Summit)!

You’ll love those loopable envelopes as modulators, right down to controlling each ADSR.

Thanks, man.

Last year when I was in the market for a new desktop synth, I was torn between the Peak and the MFB Synth Pro.

I ended up going with the MFB but had a feeling I would not be able to resist the Peak forever.

Now I’ve got both and couldn’t be happier.
